Magnetotherapy - Archive of applicators

Devices Biomag® are provided with a wide choice of applicators, in order to allow comfortable and efficient application by means of pulse magnetic field. Dimensions of the applicators, the shape and the technical parameters are designed so that they suit best to the intended application. All applicators are designed with surface made of hygienically unobjectionable materials.

Flat applicators
Flat applicators are able to excite a magnetic field of highest intensity; however, the field is rather inhomogeneous in space. The magnetic field intensity decreases according to the distance from the applicator surface (e.g. at distance of 8 cm the intensity drops to mere 20% of the value on the surface). They are used in case we do not require penetration of the magnetic field in the tissues deep under the surface. The most powerful magnetic field is in the axis near the surface. The distribution of the pulse magnetic field intensity may be verified by means of a testing magnet (included in the supply).

Cylindrical or ring-shaped applicators
Cylindrical and ring-shaped applicators operate with a homogenous field, however, the intensity is little lower in comparison to the flat applicators. They are used in case that even effects of the magnetic field are emphasised, and if we need the field to penetrate deep in the tissue (e.g. if applied on extremity joints). You may verify the range of the spatial pulse magnetic field with a testing magnet as well.

Magnetotherapy - general description

Applicators are air coils wound of enamelled copper or other special wire in a special construction. The surface of the applicator meets user requirements and relevant standards: it is made of tow quality leatherette that complies with hygienic norms for contact with epidermis.

Among the applicators available in the offer (see below), you should always select the most suitable for the particular therapeutic purpose. The applicator should be placed as close to the surface of the part subjected to the therapy as possible (with applicators -solenoids that produce a spatial pulse magnetic field, it is enough if the part of the body is located within the solenoid space). In order to make the best decision on which applicator should be applied, use the following criteria: the applicator should be placed on the body comfortably, as close to the affected part as possible; you should consider whether you need to apply the treatment in the depth (solenoid) or whether just a flat applicator would serve well for the given purpose.

The applicator may be connected to, or disconnected from, the machine connector only if the machine is not running, which means the state while the output connector is without voltage (the PA indication is active, the pulse control diode is neither flashing nor lit).

You should protect the surface of applicators against mechanical damage (e.g. breakthrough or cutting through the leatherette). In addition, neither the connector nor the inlet cable may be damaged.

With some applicators, the presence of the magnetic field is signalled with a diode that is flashing in the rhythm of the pulses. As for faster pulses, the diode is permanently lit. It is forbidden to use damaged applicators or applicators with damaged cables or connectors! Apply the applicators to the body over clothes or suitable mask.
